"Soar," by Ethan Hudspith

As I look beyond the wing I can see farther than most. I gaze down towards the small earth, feeling peaceful as I glide over land and sea. Patterns of green and beige blanket the earth as tiny houses, small enough to house a family of doll people, draw nearer.

As the earth’s gravity reaches the wing, it grasps me and slowly pulls me down to the planet. In a blink of an eye I return to my earthly home and feel the rumble of the aircraft’s feet reaching the ground, running, racing to the structure where I will separate with my wings.

Wing and sky, Earth and I.
